This week (on Monday I think) Adelaide and I had a hard day. She was grumpy all day long. She was screaming her high pitch scream all day long. She didn't nap. She wouldn't eat. Needless to say, when daddy got home, we were both SUPER happy to see him! Scott told me I was to take a book to the bath and he would take Addy outside. Best. Husband. Ever. Here's my two favorite people, ready to go play!
Addy and Lola. Scott said that the whole time, Lola stayed close to Addy. She never left the yard, but kept within a few yards of Addy. I believe it! These two are best friends ALL day! When I put Lola out to relieve herself, Addy cries. Oh this girl and her "yoya"
Scott said she wandered the entire yard (we live on an acre), walked around the house a couple times, found leaves to crunch, and pinecones to throw. All in all, they both enjoyed their time without mommy. And I enjoyed my book :)
As I believe I have mentioned before Addy is in love with clothes. I believe she got this one over her head by herself and then Dad helped with the sleeves. This face cracks me up! Who knows what she was whinin' about!
Our baby had a birthday! I apologize in advance for the many pictures, but I am a little obsessed and since it's her birthday post I think I should get to have as many pictures as I can stand to rearrange on here! Addy's birthday was Saturday, and since I couldn't really get her to eat much for dinner Friday she was awake and hungry at 5:30 AM! And she was not about to go back to sleep. So we made her cake :) She loved it. My favorite part was her trying to drink the water rather than pouring it in. Such a water baby!
The rest of these were too cute so I had to leave them big :) She is SO sneaky! After sweetly helping mommy put the lid back on the cooking spray, she scooched right over to the empty bowl! And then when daddy stole it she got quite upset! You'll see her begging for a bite in her very tired, not so patient way lol.
Not only is she not patient when waiting for something she wants, she also gets quite upset when what she wants is no longer available...She went to bed when the cakes came out of the oven, and so did mom and dad!
Daddy was so nice and let Adelaide try on his glasses. She loves glasses and always is trying to take them off. Rarely does she leave them on, but for some reason, she was rocking those puppies! (Please pardon the woman who looks like she comes from an ad for why God gave us straighteners...she hadn't gotten that far lol).
Addy's cousins joined us for cake and ice cream and presents. Addy sure loves playing with them! My mom sent Addy a water bottle and plate and bowl, and she knew what to do with them right away!
Here she is bringing them to Daddy so he can put food on them! lol
Addy was lucky enough to get some dollies for her birthday! She absolutely loves them. There isn't a moment all day when she isn't toting one of them around. It makes me so excited to have this baby!
Giving baby kisses :)
Here is Addy's cake. Not as fancy as Scott's family makes them, but it was as good as it was getting! And it was SO yummy!
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is all the messier she got! She didn't dig in like I was sure she would. She just sat there and ate it with her fork that mommy and daddy got her. It's awesome!
This is Addy's birthday song :) And yes, she touched the fire lol.
We also let Addy try her fork out early for lunch. She became a pro SO fast! It helps that she sure loves her mac and cheese!
I can't believe how old my little baby is! We love her and always will! Thanks for the best year of our lives, Adelaide Lee.
Lately, Adelaide has become obsessed with clothes. Any piece of clothing she can find lying around becomes her new toy. She has even learned to get her head through the right hole most of the time! She wraps my shirts around her, wears them as scarves, puts them on correctly, all in front of the full length mirror at the end of our hallway. It's hilarious. So you can imagine how excited she was to get a hole bag of clothes from Aunt Emily! Enjoy some fun pics :)
Lola likes to sleep weird...this is the most extreme lol
Daddy helped her put on mommy's apron :)
Tights on the head. Dad helped, but I think it was her idea :)
We've had quite the week! On Monday, we harvested all of our corn! We were so excited and grateful to get so much after we thought it was all frozen! Scott was so happy! The only vegetable he loves is corn! We froze it right on the cob. There's no better way to eat it!
Tuesday was my birthday! It also happens to be my brother-in-law's birthday as well. I made wacky cake cupcakes and turned them into a spider web! Not nearly as good as my sister-in-law or mother-in-law's cakes, but I thought it looked pretty dang good for a pregnant, anything but artsy mama :) We didn't have enough candles, so we took our ages and averaged them and I happened to have a 2 and an 8 and we added 1 to make 29! 36+22/2=29
I GOT A CLIP IN ADDY'S HAIR, AND SHE LEFT IT!!!!!!!! Both feats are a miracle, I assure you!
Addy had a particularly messy day in the kitchen yesterday while I made dinner. The gallon plastic bags were all emptied from the box, tupperware was displayed everywhere, and towels were pulled to the floor. Oh, how I love my curious little girl!
Last night we got Addy a coat at our relief society swap! I was SO happy! I have been looking for one for weeks, but refuse to pay full price lol. And this one was FREE and she LOVES it! Look at that face!
Scheduled our ultra sound for October 23rd and it can't come fast enough! Before, I was so anti-boy (I just love having a girl so much), but the other night I dreamed about our sweet baby boy (still not sure it's a boy, but I am pretty sure) Ethan Scott and then I felt the baby move, and now I don't care! In fact, I kind of want a boy! And this pregnancy has been so different from Addy's...I'm pretty sure he's a boy. But who knows?! It's 50/50!
Our garden actually grew corn! The first freeze was several days before the corn was ready. Everything else in our garden shriveled and died, and the corn stalks did the same thing. We had accepted that we wouldn't get corn. But...lo and behold...corn! So I made parmesan chicken and mashed potatoes to celebrate! It was a feast!
For our anniversary, we were blessed enough to find an amazing deal on a room, and some amazing friends and family to watch Addy. This is us getting ready to leave. Our room had a jetted tub and king bed. It was right across the river from the Idaho Falls temple. It was wonderful. I'm actually getting a belly!
When we got back, we had missed Addy so much that we decided a trip to the park was mandatory! And all Addy wanted to do was play in the bark!
Addy LOVES the dirt on our property. Trust her to pick that over the lush, green, soft 2/3 acre yard we have! I was harvesting our corn today, so we got to be outside for a while. Here she is trying to figure out her shadow...
I kept trying to tell her that we don't eat the husk...but she wouldn't hear it! She even found an ear her size. I love my outside baby!
Addy's word of the week is her kitty's name: Lola. I caught her on video saying it! And trying to eat her corn...
