SO MANY BLESSINGS!

Oh boy! This blog post is going to get exciting! Well, let's begin with the big news of the month :D A couple weeks ago, Scott had the opportunity to interview for a rigging and staging technician position in the BYU Idaho Center up on campus. To start this story out, this is the second interview he's had here, and the fourth job we've applied for. His whole life, Scott has really felt guided and led in his career choices. He has had many opportunities (including serving a mission around a bunch of sound and production people in CA) to develop his talents. Our dream has been for him to get a job here on campus serving the Lord while doing his job. So anyway, he got an interview! We were super excited and very hopeful. The next day, we got a call inviting Scott back for a second interview in just three days, and they had already narrowed it down to two candidates. He was going to have an interview in the morning with (are you ready for this?) his boss' boss' boss' boss and then a luncheon with his boss' boss, his boss' boss' boss, his boss' boss'boss', and the second candidate. I thought that was super weird...who wants to meet the guy that he has to beat out? Anyways, that interview went really well, we felt.
It took those people up there over a week to get back to us! But finally, we got a call from Jon (his new boss, whom I really really like) calling him up to a meeting. I went with and sat in the car. I knew the minute he walked out the doors with a big grin on his face and a thumbs up that we had done it! We have a job! The next Thursday was orientation and we got to hear all about our new insurance and benefits and the responsibilities that Scott would have as well as two hours of paper work. While explaining our insurance, the woman was talking about accidental death and dismemberment and she said, "you have one of the only jobs on campus where I can see this being a problem..." And they hired her in Human Resources?
So anyway, thank you all for your prayers. We have felt the hand of God in this greatly and look forward to all that we have to learn and experience while we work at this campus while it grows, grows, grows!

Here we are on his first day of work :D

Another fun thing that we did in the last couple weeks was plant our little garden! We tilled it on Monday (not knowing that in just a couple of days our manager was going to do it with a machine lol) in the hail. That's right...hail. And rain. And wind. So we decided to wait until Wednesday to plant :D
I LOVE the claw! Thank goodness Sandy had one we could use!
Them are some big weeds!
Here we are on Wednesday, a much prettier day:D Planting time!
Carefully tucking those zucchini seeds in! And squash, and pumpkins. Sure hope those dang birds didn't eat all our seeds!

Waterin'
We also got to take our first outdoor camping trip! Friday was really nice, and Scott didn't have to work Saturday so we took off! Okay, so the campground is only five minutes from our house, but it's great! Best kept secret in Rexburg :D
Our little campsite
Setting up our tent!!!!!
Just sitting and waiting for Justin and Courtney and Lexi and Roz to get there :D We sure love those guys! Scott was carving roasting sticks.
Justin and Lexi roasting a mallow. It was so cute! When the mallow was done, Justin handed it to Lexi and said, "okay, it's ready to eat!" And Lexi just looked at him with this weird look and said, "Why?" Apparently, she just thought that we were doing recreational roasting haha
My husband built that fire using only the cardboard from our cereal boxes and a lighter. If he were a "real man," (according to Uncle D) he wouldn't even need the cardboard...but if I recall, Dallas, you ended up using the newspaper... :P

Well, those were the events of the month! Oh! And baby girl Carter is getting so big! She's kicking and moving like crazy! The other day we were watching her move my whole tummy. She hiccups almost daily and LOVES summersaults, as well as crowding into the corner of mommy's tummy while she's sleeping, making it very uncomfy. She's funny. I'll be laying on my side, and I can literally feel her cuddled up on one side of me! Again, already blessing our lives so much! Oh! And today I got to buy my first maternity dress, as all of mine are getting a little (okay, a lot) snug. She's a-growin'!
Until next month (or whenever I post next) have great lives and know that we love and pray for you all! Shane, we love you and miss you and can't wait to send you pictures of your NIECE! Work hard and pray harder! The gospel is true!

Our Precious Baby Girl

SHANE! Since I know you'll look at this I just wanted to say hello and congrats on your little baby niece! We love you and we know she will too! Work hard, pray harder!
This week, Scott and I had the wonderful opportunity to have our ultrasound and see our little baby GIRL! The tech put the wand on my tummy and said, "Well, this baby's not bein' shy! You are having a little girl!" It was awesome. She definitely wasn't hiding her girliness from us, but her head was a different story! She had it tucked in nice and tight and was NOT going to let us look at it, as you'll see as you continue. She measured really well though. Her heart has four chambers, she has both kidneys, a bladder, a stomach, and a brain. It's so incredible what they can see these days! She was in the 49th percentile for her measurements and weighs a whopping 10 ounces! Looks like we'll be having about a 7 pound baby, which mommy is thankful for :D

This is her little foot! This shot was pretty hard to get seems how she just kept moving and kicking me like crazy!
This was her finally letting us see her face and then before we could snap a shot, she put her little hands in an X right in front of it! Apparently once she realized what was going on she got a little camera shy!
This is our favorite :D Scott got all excited because she has my nose and lips :) It was pretty cute.
The 3-D ones were pretty cool, and we didn't think that we were going to get any, so we were pretty excited when the tech told us that they always do those. This is one of her little legs. Oh, we are SO in love!
Because she kept moving around so quick, this one got a little blurry, but you can still see that nose! So cute!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one! It looks just like my sister Becca-Nae when she sleeps. Scott says it looks just like me sleeping, which I guess I've never seen. We are so excited to bring this little baby girl into the world!
This experience was so amazing for us! Our love for this little baby that we already thought couldn't grow anymore grew by a million miles, and we are SO looking forward to when we get to see her for real and hold her in our arms. This baby has been such a blessing to us and has strengthened our testimony of a parent's love and Heavenly Father's love for us as well as His tender mercies that he shows us everyday. We are so grateful that this baby gets to come to our home at this time and thank you all for your love and support.

Fun with the Neighbors :D

Oh the things my husband comes up with. Let's just start this post with that...Once upon a time, Rachael and Cole from next door come over for dessert. Then Scott decides that he wants to show off his cool corn starch trick. This was actually pretty cool. If you put corn starch in cold water and mix it up, you can dip your fingers in there and they go in just fine, but if you try to punch the mixture, it won't let you in! And if you try to pull your finger out too fast, you get stuck! So Cole and Scott start with this. Rachael and I were entertained and then ready to move on to more grown up things (like talking lol) and Scott decides to put this mixture into a latex glove and play with it. This was kind of cool too...until the whole thing popped and the mixture oozed out EVERWHERE! And of course, because MY husband was the one holding it, I was the one that got corn starch down my shirt and in my hair and all over my clothes haha. So here are some pretty funny pictures of that lil' event :D
Cole thought it was pretty funny and volunteered to take the pictures lol
This is Scott standing in the middle of his mess contemplating how to clean this stuff up when you can't move it too quickly. Lots of water, that's how haha. (PS: DON'T even count how many pairs of shoes I have on that rug! Scott makes fun of me all the time, but I just got rid of 8 pairs!)
This is Rachael. She's my bestest friend (along with Courtney Packard of course :P)
My onion cutting goggles. Scott makes fun of me endlessly, but after the onions are all cut and cooked, I just look at him and say, "Who's cryin' now?"
Aw, we're so in love :D Life has been amazing to us and we feel so blessed! I feel blessed enough to wake up in the morning and turn over and say, "Hey babe, I'm not gonna throw up today!" We are so excited to find out in TWO WEEKS what we're having! The gospel is true, and we love the Lord. Until next time!

Spring Break 2011!!!!!!!

This spring break was AMAZING! We had the opportunity to spend quality time together and with Scott's family in Lovell, WY! We started our break Saturday after Scott got off of work (which took me marchin' in there and dragging him out, much to his boss' chagrin haha). We watched a couple of movies and went to the grocery store and started the spring cleaning. I was going to do before and after pictures, but you guys don't want to see before haha. Then Monday, Scott made me ham, egg, and cheese bagels; my favorite and his specialty. Here are some pictures of the master at work :D

OOOooohhhh, YUM! This is making me want some now! Too bad we're out of bagels!
Tuesday morning we got up and finished packing for our journey to Lovell. This is Scott doing a weather and route check while eating his breakfast before we left.
I didn't take any pictures on the way, we were too busy reading Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons!" But the drive was alright, kind of boring. We got stuck in construction too, waiting for a pilot car, which I've never seen before. Basically, you sit there FOREVER until a truck comes to lead you down the road. You know, because you don't know how to follow the road...Anyway, we finally got to Lovell and greeted the family. It was great to see Mom and Dad Carter and Steven, Rachel, and Randy.

Wednesday Scott, Momma C, and I headed out to see some of the sights in Lovell, after making Mom's famous donuts of course. She even made maple frosting just for me! They were SO good! We drove up into the Big Horn mountains to a little campground that was kinda fun. Those windy mountain roads had my stomach lurching! It's amazing how different it is being pregnant, and I know I'm not even to the REALLY different part yet!

This was the view from the top of the mountain where we were. Kind of a desert, really...
We could only get up the mountain roads so high in the car and then we had to hop out and walk for the snowy part! It was pretty fun trying to stay on top of the snow rather than sinking in!
But we made it!
I was about to put in here that I was the first girl he kissed in Lovell, but he forgot about Marie...hmm...but he was 23 then, so I figure it's okay. Not only was he old enough to be kissin' a girl, but he's old enough now for that to be forever ago!

Mom was falling backward and Scott caught her and I thought it made rather a cute picture!
This was a little cave that we found. We couldn't get to it, but I snapped a picture!
Next we went to see Big Horn Canyon. It was amazingly beautiful, desert as it was. It was really cool too because you could yell and scream and it would echo back to you! It was really cool when the wind quieted down and we started hearing the echoes from different directions! The canyon was SO deep! We saw some huge birds flying down in there, and they looked tiny!

It was cool to see all the colors in the rocks too. There was red, purple, and yellow!

Thursday we took a day trip to Billings with Mom. Scott actually grew up here, his family moved to Lovell while he was on his mission. I AM the first girl he kissed there :D We started our trip with sealings at the Billings Temple. It was a gorgeous building and we got to run into some older folks that Scott grew up around. They kept saying, "How'd you get such a pretty girl?!" I was flattered! I guess it's like my dad always said: "Girls would rather be the cute one and the guys would rather be married to the cute one!" Although, I think my husband is pretty dang cute!

Next, we went up to the rims around Billings. I guess the whole city was an ancient river, so there are rocks all around it. Scott and his best friend Justin (Best man at our wedding) used to repel here all the time, and he showed me all the places they would repel and climb back up. It was so frightening! I hope our boys aren't into that...
Us with Billings in the background.
These were the rims from down below.
While we were in Billings we got to meet Scott's sister Sarah and his brother Josh. It was awesome to be able to meet the two siblings I hadn't yet. Josh sure has a cute family. His boys were fabulously entertaining. We showed them a computer program on their mac where they can take silly, distorted pictures. They absolutely loved it! Then we went around and saw Scott's old house, but by the time we got there it was dark so I couldn't take any pictures. It was sure fun to see where he grew up and to visit the places that he loved.

We enjoyed friday putting up curtains for Mom and just hanging out with the family. We had such a good time! On the way home, we decided to avoid the construction and the pilot car that we ended up waiting for on the way to Billings also (we waited about 3o minutes each time) so we went around the longer way. It was, however, more scenic. We got to drive through a gorge, and through some tunnels in the rocks! It was really cool, and way pretty.

When we got to the Tetons, we were slightly disappointed that we could only see the base...oh well, it was still fun! We saw a moose and a couple herds of elk too.

In Jackson, a couple hours from home, they had this huge arc made of elk antlers! I thought my uncle Dallas would appreciate this picture!
And now we're home, safe and sound. We had a great vacation, and can't wait until our next doctor's appointment so we know if we're going to be blessed with a son or a daughter. The gospel is true, and we love family so much. We are grateful for our parents and can't wait to become parents to this little parasite :D
