I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home
Adelaide is definitely a daddy's girl. It comes in handy when he's home and she'd rather have him...but during the work day it can be a struggle. If she's awake when he leaves for work, she cries as he walks out the door and then heads over to the window, where she watches him drive away, flattens herself on the floor, and does the most pitiful and pathetic cry for about ten minutes. Same thing happens when he leaves after lunch (if he comes home). When he pulls into the driveway, she watches in the window and cries because she thinks he's leaving. Then when he walks in the door and says, "Addy, I'm coming home!" She stands up and walks right over to the gate at the top of the stairs and waits, not so patiently, for him to get his shoes off and pick her up. Sometimes, she's even lucky enough to get to talk to daddy on the phone. I put it on speaker and turn the display off and she carries the phone around while she babbles and daddy talks. Here's a video of them together after Daddy got home the other day. She LOVES daddy. Which is good, because he loves her right back!
